A woman spat pepper-spray tainted saliva in the faces of two police officers and violently kicked one of them in the chest during a roadside confrontation.
The officers were left with injuries and the fear she may have given them a disease.
Renee Rose Reynolds, 21, pleaded guilty to one charge of unlawfully getting into a motor vehicle, and two charges each of assaulting police and resisting arrest when she appeared in Tauranga District Court yesterday.
She was sentenced to 150 hours' community work.

However, Judge Rollo said given Reynolds had no past convictions for this sort of conduct, he would impose community work this time which he was prepared to allow her to convert into work training hours.
